Red Bean Paste Triange

Red Bean Paste Triangle

By May Huang

Ingredients (see picture below for all ingredients):
1. 1 package (1 lb) Phyllo Dough
2. 2 lb red bean paste
3. 3/4 C canola oil (or butter)

Directions:
1. Mix the red bean paste and orange peel well in a container, cover the container, and place the container in a refrigerator for over night
2. Carefully unroll the Phyllo Dough and place the sheets on a working table/board (one stack). Evenly cut through the stack of sheets to six sub-stacks (strips), each sub-stack should be about 2 ½ inch wide, and 16 inch long. Take 6 strips aside from a sub-stack, brush the top strip with the oil, and place one full tablespoon red bean paste at the one end of the strips, and fold it to a triangle. See the following steps for more detailed instruction. Repeat this procedure to finish the remaining strips. The amount of the triangles should make two 9 x 11 baking sheets.
3. Preheat oven with 320 F, place the backing sheets to the oven, and bake about 15 minutes, turn over the triangles, and continue to bake about another 5 minutes. The both side of triangles should be light brown when it is done. Take the baking sheets out. It can be served either warm or cold.

Note: cover the Phyllo Dough not in use with the plastic sheet that comes with the Phyllo Dough since it is very delicate and dry to the touch.
